     “So Demy, I was kinda hopping we could go see a movie this weekend. Would you like to come?”
“Sure! Sounds like fun.”
“Great! See you Saturday!”

     You didn’t believe the rumors going around school. They just didn’t make sense. Sure, you and Demyx were friends since preschool. But boyfriend and girlfriend? That just seemed a little over-the-top, didn’t it? Thank goodness it’s Friday. Then you’ll have the weekend to hang with your friends! It was lunchtime and, as usual, you were sitting with your best friends. Roxas, Namine, and Demyx to your left, and Zexion, Axel, and Sora to your right.
“So Demyx, when are you gonna ask ------- to the dance?” Axel asked, the usual smirk on his face.
“Axel not you too?!” you responded before Demyx could even answer.
“Well you are still available right?” Zexion said.
“Ugh, just so you know I wasn’t even gonna go to the dance. And don’t you guys have enough fan girls to choose from?” you added, pointing to the table across from yours, over-filled with fan girls. Most likely Zexion’s since they all held books against their chest.
“All of my fan girls deserted me once I chose Namine.” Roxas commented, putting an arm around her shoulder.
“Come on -------! You’ve got to come!” pleaded Namine.
“Oh my goodness…. Fine! I’ll come. But only because I’m tired of you nagging me about it. When is the dance anyway?” you said, obviously annoyed.
“Tomorrow!”
“What the heck Namine! Why would you tell me this late?”
     The school bell rang, signaling the end of lunch and the end of your conversation. All of you stood up, books in hand, and headed towards your last few classes. You ran to catch up with Demyx, knowing that you have separate classes at the end of the day.
“You seemed pretty quiet at lunch Demy. Are you mad that we might have to cancel our plans for Saturday?” you asked Demyx.
“No, I was just thinking.” He answered, a smile on his face.
“About what?”
“About what I was gonna wear to the dance.”
“You were going too? Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I didn’t know how you would react if I told you I was gonna try to get a girlfriend. To end the rumors.”
“Well good for you!” you said smiling, lightly elbowing him in the arm. Seifer and his gang suddenly brushed past the two of you.
“Demyx and --------, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!” Seifer chanted before laughing and walking away.
“Grow up Seifer!” you yelled back.
     
---Fast forward to Saturday morning---

     You and Namine were at your house, trying to think of something for you to wear for tonight.
“Alright so it’s narrowed down to the short, strapless red dress and the long, blue, halter top dress.” You said, pondering over which dress to wear.
“Well Axel’s favorite color is red. But Sora’s, Zexion’s, and Demyx’s favorite color is blue. I’d go with the halter top.” Namine responded.
“Did you stalk those guys before you went out with Roxas?”
“Did you not notice me keeping you away from the green strapless with the ruffles at the bottom?”
“His favorite color is green?”
“Hey! He’s mine!”
“I know! I know! Sheesh. You fan girls get so violent when talking about your man.”
You sighed, still not able to decide.
“Fine. I’ll go with the blue dress.” You sighed again.
“Aha! So you are trying to impress Demyx!” Namine enthusiastically yelled.
“I’m only picking the halter cause it seems safer than the strapless. Not because I’m trying to impress anyone.”
“Okay. Whatever you say.”

---Fast forward to during the dance---

     The dance was held in the gym. It seemed as if there wasn’t much effort into the decorations. However there was a good D.J. and a large snack table. Demyx, Axel, Zexion, and Sora were talking to one another.
“So who wants to make the first move on -------?” Axel asked them.
“C’mon Axel, give Demyx here a chance.” Sora said, playfully nudging Demyx’s arm.
“I know her more than you do Axel. She’d never fall for a guy like you.” Demyx responded, his arms crossed over his chest.
“Ouch. That sounded like it hurt.” Sora said before laughing.
“Five bucks says Axel kills Demyx.” Zexion whispered to Sora.
"I'm in on that. Ten says Demyx will kiss ------- first."
     A few minutes later, you and Namine arrived.
“I think I see the guys over there.” You said, pointing in their direction.
“Come on! Let’s go see if that dress works!” Namine grabbed your wrist and pulled you towards the boys.
“Namine! Wait! Slow-“ you were cut off after Namine pushed you into someone. You looked up to see the same dark green eyes you always loved. You quickly jumped a few feet back, blushing slightly.
“Sorry Demyx.” You said, looking down at the floor. He reached out his hand to you.
“Come with me, I need to tell you something.” He said a soft smile on his face.
You grabbed his hand, but frowned when you were once again dragged around the gym.
     He dragged you outside to a small garden. It seemed like a circle surrounded by a variety of colorful flowers.
“------?” You heard Demyx say.
You turned towards him, who was sitting on a wooden bench. Beckoning you to come sit next to him.
Why do I have a feeling that I know what will happen next? You thought to yourself as you sat next to Demyx.
“It should be pretty obvious on what I’m about say next.” He said, placing one of your hands in his. You timidly shook your head ‘no’, looking down at the ground.
Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Why would you do that?!
He sighed. Though for some reason, he seemed happy.
“Well I guess I’ll just have to tell you myself.” He cupped one of his hands under your chin, the other still holding onto your hand. He then lifted your face to his, softly planting his lips on yours. You gave into the kiss, not wanting this feeling to end. Sadly, he separated too soon.  
“Now do you understand?” he asked.
“If I lie will you kiss me again?” you responded.
Demyx couldn’t help but laugh at your response. You laughed along with him.
“So is that a yes?” he said once he was through laughing.
“It’s a definite yes!” you answered, pulling him into a tight hug.
“Finally!” you heard someone yell behind you. You and Demyx immediately broke apart and turned around to see where the voice was from. Behind you was practically everyone you knew at school. Roxas, Sora, Namine, Zexion, and Axel in the front.
“How long have you guys been there?” Demyx asked.
“Long enough.” Axel answered.
“And who ruined our moment?” you asked angrily.  Zexion raised his hand.
Note for the future: kill Zexion.
“Okay, we’re dating. Now you know. So if you don’t mind…” Demyx said before pulling you into another kiss. You heard cheering and applauding behind the two of you as you tried to share a passionate kiss. You smiled as you listened to Demyx sigh with frustration.
“Hey Demyx, I have a question.” You whispered as you two broke apart.
“What is it?”
“How does this ‘end’ the rumors?”
